Art of Refusing

It may happen many times that we want to say 'NO' to some of the whimsical demands of our friend, boss at work, or even from some people who are in no way related, etc. but we are not able to. It happened many times with me that I was busy with a particular job even then someone asked me to help in their job, though he knew about my busy state of affairs. And I could not refuse that ultimately leading to jeopardizing my own state of work.

So, the art of refusing needs to be mastered for that matter. Its very important to make a mark about our displeasure about things we don't intent to do. Because unless we say no one is going to understand the importance of our work. We should say in a way that would not offend the person and he also understands the cause. For me it becomes impossible to refuse a person outright, a habit that does not help in the long run. Instead of putting ourselves in trouble, we can politely REFUSE, an art I need to master the most.

Saying NO can be very difficult...But to do things against your will and possibilities will end up in feeling used and resentful....moreover You have the right to say "No"....buttttt again its an art which one has to to learn.....

I agree with you. It's difficult for me as well and later I find myself in taxing situations. We need to master this art.

Most of the time, denial obviously saddens the person in the receiving end. But what else can be done. if one can't really afford to help the needy??? It would rather be better to say 'no' than dissappointing the needy in the end. So, never hesitate to say 'no', if the situation demands. A nIce thought provoking post and keep posting.

I think its a Herculean task to say No at times. Weird how two alphabets put together can be so tough to get out of our mouths.
Thanks for your comments ya. Made me reallly elated. :]

Whoa !! I am almost blatant in saying no :D i mean better deny than making someone expect something of you. isnt it ?
Ok i agree it makes someone sad but you can explain but saying yes for a situation where you find yourself in a fix is no way to make others happy ??

P.S : There is some problem in your comment section it isnt allowing me to put my comment under google account where I am already logged in , I had to use name and url space seperately for that. Please check that out.
